Gender Equality more like Gender Inequality

Hey there, my fellow truth-seekers and equality enthusiasts! Today, let's dive into a topic that's been buzzing like a beehive lately – gender equality. It's like this powerful current that's shaping our world for the better, ensuring everyone gets a fair shot, no matter their gender. Gender equality, a fundamental principle aimed at ensuring equal opportunities and treatment for all genders, has been a long-standing battle in the pursuit of a just and inclusive society. However, amidst the genuine efforts to uplift and empower, a concerning trend of pseudo-feminism has emerged – a phenomenon where the noble cause of feminism is twisted, diluted, and even misused for personal gains. Pseudo-feminism, often disguised as a champion of women's rights, steers off course by promoting an unequal narrative under the pretext of seeking equality. While the authentic feminist movement strives to address systematic imbalances, pseudo-feminism can inadvertently perpetuate gender inequality by fostering divisive sentiments.

Alright, if you cannot believe that pseudo-feminism exists then imagine a scenario. Imagine a man who is unhappy with his female neighbour's choice of marrying to an NRI and he shamelessly goes on body shaming her openly on national media. Calling her cricket (not sports but an insect), doubting her capabilities and questioning her communication skills. Will social media indirectly support the man by making memes on the female. Will so-called feminists share those memes on a female while sipping a cup of coffee? No, this isn't a plot of typical bollywood movie. This is reality with an exception where a female neighbour is consequently body shaming a male in one after another interview. And people are enjoying it (to be honest, I was one of them until I realised my mistake).

Here's the kicker – where are the fearless warriors of feminism when you need them? You see, feminism, at its core, champions equality and tears down those unfair stereotypes that have held us back for centuries. But when a man becomes the target of unwanted mockery, those voices seem to fade into the background. Is this what feminism all about? Or are we dealing with a masked imposter here? And guess what? This isn't a one-off. Nope, not at all. Across the vast tapestry of India, stories unfold where men are unfairly accused, their lives crumble like a house of cards, and yet, the championing voices seem mysteriously silent. It's like a twisted version of justice, where accusations can wipe out families, reputations, and livelihoods in the blink of an eye. Case of 2015 'Jasleen Kaur harassment controversy'. In the heart of Delhi, 2015, Jasleen Kaur's social media accusation of sexual harassment against Sarvjeet Singh ignited a viral maelstrom, painting Singh as a predator while rallying celebrities and politicians to Kaur's cause. Yet, an unexpected eyewitness altered the course of injustice, and the courtroom's verdict in 2019 stripped Singh of guilt. A story of shifting narratives, it underscores the fragility of online judgment, the puzzling dance between perception and reality, and the imperative to peel back layers before pronouncing judgment. Did the judgement return the man's dignity as it was back in 2015? Now, this is just one of many famous cases where men are falsely accused. There is yet another genre where men are raped and harassed but they stay silent for societal reasons and male-ego. Not many people talk about male rape and harassment cases and it truly is an underrated issue which needs more attention.

No, I am not here to point finger on anyone's credibility but to bring down light on underrated topics. My dear readers truth knows no boundaries. It doesn't care about your gender. Also, harassment is a general problem with all the genders. This pseudo-feminism will take you no where. Pseudo-Feminists doesn't even support the cause of empowering women from backward areas instead, they just go in search of such topics which brings them into game of fame. This blog doesn't undermines the importance to empower women in backward areas. So, let's pause for a moment and reflect on this tangled web of pseudo-feminism. As we journey through the maze of gender equality, let's remember that unity and understanding are our most potent weapons. Let's stand against the shadows that threaten to weaken our resolve, and let's hold true to the values that make feminism a force for good.
